    Feelin’ Like HD

Feelin’ Like HD from Benjamin Ahr Harrison on Vimeo.

I finally put an HD version of this video online. I directed this video for Elan Vytal and Unconscious Logic. I also built all the sets and designed the costumes!

    I Writed a Novel!

    novella

I decided to take The Motherlode, my post-apocalyptic comedy SF novel(la) and put it in what I think is more or less proper manuscript format and print it out. I was feeling sort of vengeful against a particular tree. Anyways, this is what it looks like. Kind of cool. I wonder what it would be like to try and publish it?

    Machine Man Inc Goes Live

My production company, Machine Man Inc, has just established a foothold on the internet. The company has really been growing lately, and we have a lot of exciting projects coming up! I designed the website myself, and while it’s a work in progress, it’s something I’m pretty proud of, as is the company.

    Ch-check it out.

    Pittsburgh, ho!

I’m going to PA to visit my best friend tomorrow, and to take a few blessed days off while I recover from shooting the music video I just co-produced, art directed, directed, and will soon edit for the excellent hip-hop band, Unconscious Logic. Whew. I’ll catch y’all when I get back, probably.

Meantime, here’s some stills from the shoot.

    Hit the Lights (I’m On)

Hit the Lights (I’m On) from Benjamin Ahr Harrison on Vimeo.

I directed this music video for the extremely talented A. Pinks, a Queens-based rapper that you should definitely keep an eye on.

    First Cut

Ben Joseph and I submitted a film proposal to the First Cut Film Series and just got notified that it has been advanced to the second round. The prize, which will be awarded to the top five feature film scripts submitted, is a million dollar budget and an experienced executive producer. Ben and I would be cowriters, he’d be the producer and I’d be the director!

This stage in the competition involves submitting the full length screenplay. There will be ten scripts selected from that pool, at which point I believe there will be some voting open to the public. Obviously this isn’t a sure shot, but I’ll post updates if news warrants them.

    Conman: New York

I just finished a piece that I co-wrote, directed and edited for conman.tv that I would describe as a movie trailer with no movie. It’s the second in a series that the producer and star is creating that may become an actual television show or a web video series.

I had the help of my good friend Tony Borden for the camera work, of Eddie Simeon for help with the mix and of Jesse Thorn of The Sound of Young America on the voiceover.

    Things That Are Awesome

Jake Lefco VidHere’s a couple of awesome things. This weekend I directed my second music video! The artist, Jake Lefco, is a really talented Philly-based rapper. He’s getting ready to release his second album, the follow up to “And You Are?” which I think is probably one of the best albums I’ve ever heard that got slept on as hard as it did. The video will hopefully debut all over the place, including this part of the internet, when the new album drops.

AwesomeAlso, I got a letter in the mail the other day, and I couldn’t figure out who in Los Angeles could be sending me anything. Then I opened it and found an awesome The Sound Of Young America sticker in there. It went right on the back of my computer, right below my Jake Lefco sticker and to the left of my Oakland sticker. Anyways, watch this spot for the video to drop in a little while. Holler back!
