Chuck Jones, the producer and editor for Machine Man Inc. was kind enough to undertake the editing of my directing reel. There was an older version that I cut, but it was more a showcase of my lack of skill as an editor than my skill as a director. Here it is in all its fresh and brand new glory!

My production company, Machine Man Inc, has just established a foothold on the internet. The company has really been growing lately, and we have a lot of exciting projects coming up! I designed the website myself, and while it’s a work in progress, it’s something I’m pretty proud of, as is the company.

Double 7 Film Site Launch

I am one of the directors that works with Double 7 Films, the production company that Pete Chatmon created. Double 7 has just introduced a relaunch of their main page (not to be confused with Double 7 World, the company’s arts and trendspotting blog) as part of a big push by the company to move into its next phase as a major production house. Capital is being raised for the next three features and new client relationships are being formed. I couldn’t possibly be more excited to be involved.

Viacom Sends Nastygrams to YouTube About Shit They Don’t Own

The Consumerist has a piece about an indie filmmaker who discovered that Viacom was fraudulently claiming ownership of clips of her movie that she posted on YouTube. This is bonkers as it gives Viacom access to user information related to the content in question even though they have nothing to do with it, thereby totally validating fears people had about Viacom getting access to user information at all.

I have a friend who has been working for Viacom in their effort to identify which content is theirs on YouTube. Essentially, they have people on the payroll whose job it is to surf YouTube all day and log clips that are owned by Viacom. See where the potential for error comes into play? This kind of thing is basically a foregone conclusion.

Meanwhile, Lion’s Gate, unlike Viacom, is clearly not run by morons.
